Mayor and Township Council

Mayor of Allamuchy

Rick Lomonaco
The Mayor

Hometown: I was born in Hillside New Jersey in 1962.  I grew up in a small house with my parents and 4 siblings. We moved to Whippany New Jersey in 1976 where I completed grammar school and attended Whippany Park High School.

Family: In 1998, I married my high school sweetheart Lisa. This year we will be married 20 years.  As a couple we have been able to work on various fundraisers together such as the annual Fire Department Golf Outing, Allamuchy Day and the Allamuchy Dog Park.  We love all animals, particularly canines.

Education: I attended William Paterson College where I majored in Accounting and minored in Business Administration.  I graduated William Paterson in 1985.

Career: My work history began at the age of 16, working at a golf driving range in East Hanover New Jersey.  My next endeavor was working in a hotel where I began as a doorman and ended in the position of Front Desk Manager.  This experience allowed me to hone my people skills as well as gain valuable managerial experience.

I worked full time throughout college to help ease the burden of college expenses on my parents.  I was the first in my family to graduate college. In 1988, I began work at Modern Facilities Services where I still work today. Modern is a facilities management company that cleaned the Port Authority of NY and NJ’s Tower 2 at the WTC, Terminal B at Newark Airport as well as the Path Trains that run from Hoboken to NYC.  I entered the company as Front Office Manager and presently hold the title of VP, Finance & Human Resources. Modern employs over 500 employees and works in three states.

Experience: While on Town Council, Rick was able to implement a program that reimburses the township for Fire Department services provided within the Township, including Interstate 80.  This program’s reimbursements have aided in the purchase of vehicles, the dedication of the firehouse and replacement of the cascade system that refills air bottles for firefighters.  These purchases would have otherwise come from the town budget.

Community Leadership: As a hobby, I played soccer for over 30 years.  As my soccer career came to an end, I began coaching travel teams for the Hackettstown/Allamuchy community.  I was in my fourth-year coaching when the opportunity arose to become a member of the Allamuchy Fire Department.  I have now been a member for 14 years, serving in numerous capacities such as Association Secretary, Steward, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and finally as Fire Chief from 2015 to present.  My responsibilities allow me to connect with the various organizations in town including but not limited to the Allamuchy Seniors, the Ecumenical Church, The Board of Education and so much more.  I enjoy donating my time and I receive great satisfaction assisting people in need. I feel that my people skills, analytical capabilities and organizational skills will be a great asset as Mayor of Allamuchy.
