Allamuchy Historical Society

The Allamuchy Historical Society was incorporated as a non-profit entity in 1948. The original purpose of the group was to maintain the old Quaker Burial Grounds located on Johnsonburg Road. Over the years, the mission of the group has expanded into collecting and maintaining historical information within Allamuchy Township. While the Allamuchy Historical Society is an independent entity, it maintains a close relationship and affiliation with Allamuchy Township, storing its collections at the Municipal Building. 

Of note, the Allamuchy Historical Society provided information and assistance for the applications of both the Freight House and Rutherfurd Hall for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

The membership of the Allamuchy Historical Society has declined over the years. In 2012 the Allamuchy Historical Society and the Friends of Rutherfurd Hall partnered to grant Allamuchy Historical Society membership to dues-paying members of the Friends of Rutherfurd Hall.
