Animal Control & Licensing

Animal Control

The Animal Control Officer is dedicated to maintaining public safety, enforcing animal licensing laws, and preserving and protecting the well-being of animals, both wild and domestic.

Leslie Ulanowski, A.C.O., serves as the Animal Control Officer for Allamuchy Township.

Animal Licensing

All dogs and cats over 6 months of age, whether inside or outside, are required to be licensed by January 31st of each calendar year before late fees are assessed. An exception is made for farm cats. The rabies certificate must be good through November 1st of the license year, in accordance with the New Jersey State Department of Health.

If your pet has passed away, we kindly ask that you notify the Township so that we may update our records and remove them from the municipal licensing system. This helps ensure our records remain accurate and avoid unnecessary reminders.

Please note: Dog park registration is separate from dog licensing. Dogs must be licensed with the Township prior to registering for the dog park. For questions about the Allamuchy Dog Park, please contact Dog Park Co-Commissioners Bill Barney at (617) 680-0628 or Ellen Nadeau at (908) 347-3393.
